Who am I?
I wish I was special
but I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here
(Radiohead, "Creep")
I wasn't planning on telling who I am in the first place, but maybe it would be nice to know who writes all this. So I'll write something about myself here.
First name: Roelof (pronounce the "oe" as the "o" in "to.")
Date of birth: June 20, 1979
Native town: Meppel, Netherlands
Residence: Heenvliet, a Rotterdam suburb, about 500 meters (0.3 miles I think) from the harbour.
Daily occupation: Before this shit began I studied economics at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam; now I "study" economics at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. I work for a student exploiment agency every once in a while.
Things I love / like: Driving cars; playing soccer; watching soccer; riding my bike (especially at night); listening to music; take a tram / bus / subway and explore the city.
Things I don't like: People who think they're better than others (or even hate them) because of things they can't help; people who don't raise their dogs well and, by that, bother others (me) (80-90% of the dog owners in Holland); people who think they have to tell me how to drive a car (my parents and the cops etc.); people who call themselves supporters of a soccer club and, in the meanwhile, give that club a bad name; people who want to illegalize certain drugs without ever having taken them.
Favorite music: I like lots of different styles of music, but lately I especially enjoy sad songs like "Nothing compares to you" by Sinead O'Conner, "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan and I can go on like this for hours on end. However, I have two all-time favorites, which aren't sad. They're on top of my personal list, in a class that's even higher than the highest class. These are "Killer" by Adamsky (or Adamski) and "Unfinished Sympathy" by Massive Attack.
